about

Hello!
I’m Katelyn Rossier

I'm a licensed Architect with such a passion for mentoring, it has grown into mentorDINO LLC.

After 10 years within the profession, I've seen firms large and small needing some additional support training their young professionals. The pressure on the middle and senior level staff to not only juggle their own project workload, but also train and teach. This adds a strain on seasoned staff since we cannot change the finite resource of time. This is where mentorDino is starting to help firms of all sizes, and young professionals around the country.

Licensed Architect in Pennsylvania. Achieved my license 3 years after graduating college.

I have over 16 years of experience using Revit.

My passion in architecture has always been about people. Everyone along the process all the way to the individuals experiencing the space. I became a certified practitioner of the Luma Institute Human-Centered Design Program in 2019.

Certified Lean 6 Six Sigma Black Belt professional to helped train me to lead problem-solving projects and train/coach project teams.

Certified life coach practitioner. I’m always learning and growing to have more tools and training for help others.

I am an architect that works on a variety of complex projects. I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Architecture at Kent State University. What I love about the architecture profession is the opportunity to continuously learn, grow, and create.  I am always looking to help others and build strong project teams.

Outside of architecture, I enjoy being active through biking, hiking, golfing, traveling, cooking, and trying new things. I try to bring our dogs along whenever possible. I even trained my mini aussie to compete in agility trials.

You never know where a cup of coffee with a friend or mentor can lead you.

Our STORY

The platform mentorArchitect, began in 2019 as a simple blog to share stories and experiences with other design professionals. Over the years, it has become more about how we can give back to the design community and provide valuable resources to help the industry as a whole. This time brainstorming was done to evaluate the need within firms, and where the stressors within one’s career lies. We continued to evaluate what type of product or service that could be provided to help as many professionals as possible, while also understanding the time and financial implications of firms, professionals, and myself.

In 2022, a path to move forward was identified to start creating this resource. This step forward led to the creation of a formal small business and an adjustment to the platform name and identity. mentorDino, LCC was formed in 2023. The company continues to provide free content such as posts, sharing experiences, resources, and research reports. The company will begin to launch training course services, which was the step forward to helping the industry. The initial batch of courses will be launched spring of 2023. These courses will be focused on recent graduates joining the profession. There are plans to grow the training courses into other career transitions such as; project architect and project management. However, there is no set timeline for those courses yet.

We look forward to helping your firm and the industry. If there are struggles or specific resources you are looking for, please let us know! It will help the company prioritize different content and resources.

Oh, and meet my buddy Trace! My dinosaur buddy that is helping me along the way. For those that know me personally, I’m always looking to have fun and laugh at work. Trace keeps me smiling and has been so much fun to have so far.

Our Mission

mentorDINO is dedicated to helping the architectural industry thrive by offering training and knowledge sharing services for professionals.

Over the years I’ve seen the struggle for time in the industry. There is simply not enough time in the day to dedicate the appropriate amount towards: teaching recent graduates, completing our tasks, modeling at a higher level, keeping up with owner schedules, reviewing everyone’s work, etc. This pressure creates stress on professionals of all levels and the industry as a whole. And time is a finite resource, so we cannot change that aspect. But what we can do is find resources to help us do our jobs more efficiently. That is where mentorDino is here to help.
We are here to be a resource for firms to train their staff. One of the hardest times is during career transitions, because you are stepping into a role with new tasks and new responsibilities. That is where we focus our training. We are starting with the recent graduate’s series of courses to help lay a solid foundation for your youngest staff. Providing them with tools and resources to not only understand Revit faster, but also provide them with the knowledge hit the ground running and be an all star team member. We go beyond the hard skills training, and we dive into the soft skills essential for our profession.

We are excited to see where this company goes and the impact, we can have in helping your career.
